Zegupu kitchen preparing healthy meals

Zegupu started in 2018 when our founder, a nutritionist with 12 years of clinical experience, noticed how difficult it was for busy Londoners to maintain proper nutrition. Working with clients in Islington, Camden, and Hackney, she saw the same pattern: people understood what they should eat but lacked time to prepare it.

We established our first kitchen in North London with a team of three chefs trained in nutritional cooking. Our initial menu featured 8 meal options, all designed by registered dietitians and tested over six months. Within the first year, we served 4,200 meals to 180 regular customers.

Our Approach

Every meal contains verified macronutrient ratios calculated by our in-house nutritionist. We source ingredients from 14 local suppliers in Greater London, with 70% of our vegetables coming from farms within 50 miles. Our kitchen operates under FSA Level 5 hygiene rating, inspected quarterly.

The menu changes weekly based on seasonal availability. Each dish includes detailed nutritional information: calories, protein, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, and sodium content. We prepare meals daily between 4am and 10am, with delivery completed by 2pm.

Currently, we employ 8 chefs, 2 nutritionists, and 6 delivery drivers. Our customer base has grown to 850 active subscribers across 15 London boroughs.
